Mystery woman added to already mysterious story

General Hospital is continuing to bolster its roster in preparation for James Franco's arrival later this month. The show, which has already started exploring a mysterious graffiti tag that has been appearing all over Port Charles, is now adding a mystery woman that will play in Franco's story.

When James Franco (Franco) rolls into town later this month, he'll do so with an entourage. But what movie star doesn't have a posse?

Accompanying Franco will be Marsha Thomason, who many fans will recognize from a brief stint on Lost. Thomason will play a mystery woman opposite Franco's character.

In addition to her work as Naomi over the course of two seasons on ABC's Lost, Thomason has also appeared in about a dozen feature films and made numerous guest-starring appearances in primetime. Thomason's biggest box office flick to date was the 2003 Eddie Murphy film, The Haunted Mansion.

While her General Hospital role will mark her first foray into daytime television, several of her past projects give her ties to the soap world. The actress appeared in the direct-to-video release of Into the Blue 2: The Reef, which co-starred The Young and the Restless' Michael Graziadei (Daniel Romalotti, Y&R). Thomason also recently appeared on the CBS crime series Criminal Minds, which features Emmy winner Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm Winters, Y&R). Closer to home, Thomason shares a General Hospital connection, having appeared opposite Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda Barrett) on NBC's casino drama, Las Vegas. Thomason's friendship with Marcil landed her an appearance in Lifetime's Intimate Portrait of Marcil.

Little is known about Thomason's GH persona nor has an exact airdate been announced. Expect it to come on or near Franco's debut, which takes place on November 20.
