A new faith-based musical series called Wholly Broken will star All My Children alum Susan Lucci (Erica Kane) alongside Alicia Minshew (Kendall Hart, AMC) and Terri Conn (Katie Peretti, As the World Turns; Aubrey Wentworth, One Life to Live).

All My Children star Susan Lucci (Erica Kane) is set to step into the shoes of a powerful congresswoman named Gabriella Dixon in an upcoming series called Wholly Broken.

The musical project is based on the Amazon Prime pilot movie of the same name by Tom Humbert. The film was shot back in 2016 and, as Soap Central reported at the time, it stars Alicia Minshew (Kendall Hart, AMC) and Terri Conn (Katie Peretti, As the World Turns; Aubrey Wentworth, One Life to Live). The film told the story of Tom (Humbert), a recovering alcoholic minister who loses his job as a pastor and must deal with his failed marriage to his career-driven ex-wife, Kim (Minshew).

A new teaser trailer for the upcoming series version of Wholly Broken was released and reveals that both Minshew and Conn will be returning to their film roles, while Lucci will be playing the new character of Gabriella Dixon, who returns to her hometown to fight for tougher laws against texting while driving.

According to Newsday, Lucci's character was widowed due to a drunk driver. Gabriella is estranged from her son, who is battling addictions and possibly bipolar disorder. Lucci will even sing a tune or two in the musical series.

Wholly Broken will be filming later this year and is tentatively set for a fall 2021 release. Keep checking back to Soap Central for more information as it comes.

EDITOR's NOTE: Since this article went live, the trailer for the project has been removed. We're told that a revised trailer will be released soon.
